Doin' Stuff III: Talkin'

We've reached that awesome stage right before they start talking when we can interpret everything Ella says as a possible word. Did she just say "gargantuan"? I think she said "marshmallow"!

But here are some things we think she really actually knows she's saying:

Duck!

She says "duck" to a lot of things, but also to ducks. In those cases we know that she knows exactly what it means. So we believe she is a genius.

Book!

When she says "duck" to a "book," she's just checking to see if you're really listening. She can really say book, if she wants to. It's really just "duck" but with a B. So that's really something!

We expect many more "-uck" words to come!

Bye-bye!

Or in her case "Die-die"! But "b"s and "d"s are pretty similar, they even look alike. You can easily see how they could be confused. To her it means the same thing. In this video you can even see her looking around worriedly to see who's leaving.

And finally, La la la! Deego, deego, deego!

I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but if mommy yells it to you it is very important that you respond in kind.
